
Following reports of a strange event in Havant yesterday, we are requesting witnesses.
Between 5:00pm and 5:10pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 November), a 12 year-old girl was reportedly waiting at a bus stop on Barncroft Way, when she was approached by a man that she didn’t know.
The man spoke to the girl briefly and then tried to touch her inappropriately over her clothing. The girl called for help from members of the public and the man left the area.
She was not physically hurt.
Enquiries are ongoing in order to identify the man involved, who has been described as follows:
- Aged in his 60s
- Mixed race or tanned skin
- Very short grey hair
- Large build
- Wearing dark trousers, a cream-coloured puffer coat and a baseball cap

The A31 has been closed due to a crash involving a van.
Emergency services have been called to a crash along the A31 westbound between the end of the M27 and Picket Post.
All lanes are blocked heading Westbound.
The Echo’s traffic feed, by Inrix, said: “A31 Westbound blocked, stationary traffic due to recovery work and accident from M27 J1 (Cadnam) to A31 (Minstead / Castle Malwood Turn Off).
“Recovery of a van that was involved in a collision on the 16/06 and left the carriageway.”
The AA meanwhile added: “Severe delays of 14 minutes and delays increasing on M27 Westbound between J2 A36 (Romsey / Totton) and A31. Average speed five mph.”
Motorists have been advised to avoid the area
