A huge police presence has been spotted along a busy street in High Wycombe.
In the morning of Sunday, December 1, officers from Thames Valley Police were reported to a property on Desborough Avenue after a ‘suspicious substance’ was discovered.
As well as police officers, fire engines from Bucks Fire and Rescue and the ambulance service were also in attendance as ‘work is ongoing to ascertain what the substance is.’
A spokesperson from Thames Valley Police said: “The fire and rescue service and ambulance service are also on scene.
“There isn’t believed to be a wider risk to the public, however, the road is currently closed as a precautionary measure and local residents are advised to keep their windows and doors closed at this time until the substance has been identified.
“We will issue an update when we can.”
A member of the public has told the Free Press that the ‘whole road’ has been shut off and that the incident is ‘really major’.
